Two lengths of randomly selected hubless cast iron soil pipe
were joined with an MG COUPLING, torqued to 175 inch-pounds,
and the ends of the assembly were sealed. After 24 hours,
the assembly was submerged in water, and a vacuum of 9 inches
Hg was pulled for 10 minutes. The assemble was removed from
the water, wiped dry, and the interior of the pipe was inspected
for leakage. |
